Position Summary:
The Banquet Server is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests during events, ensuring a seamless dining experience. This role involves setting up and breaking down banquet spaces, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean, organized environment throughout the event. The Banquet Server works closely with the kitchen and event coordinators to ensure guest satisfaction, following all safety and hygiene protocols. Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment are essential for success in this position.
Daytime weekday as well as occasional evening and weekend availability is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing attentive and courteous service, responding to guests' needs throughout the event
- Serving food and beverages to guests in a professional and timely manner
- Setting up tables, chairs, linens, audio visual equipment, banquet presentations, coffee and water service and other banquet materials before events
- Cleaning catering facilities including table, floors, chairs, chafers, dishes, utensils, tableware etc.
- Responsible for safe storage of all catering equipment
- Responsible for event breakdown and clean-up once the event concludes
- Follow requirements of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.
- Representing Wanuskewin with a professional appearance and attitude
- Offer first class Indigenous hospitality
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience in restaurant or banquet service.
- CPR, First Aid certification considered an asset.
- Food safe level 1 considered an asset.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and problem solve.
- Ability to work early mornings, nights and weekends.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Candidates must be available to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically fit. Able to stand, walk, lift for the majority of the shift as well as able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds or more.
- Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and present a satisfactory drivers abstract. Public transportation is not available to the Wanuskewin site.

A satisfactory criminal record check is required as a condition of employment.
