Overview
This position is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient operations of the Conference Centre.
Responsibilities
- Establish rapport with clientele and ensuring professional and courteous service is provided to exceed customers’ expectations.
- Oversee all function room set ups and ensure all equipment and supplies are maintained and available.
- Oversee banquet employees, to include but not limited to Porters and Servers.
- The ability to control inventories and ordering of products IE: Linens, Liquor, Beer and small wares
- Bartending and serving when needed
- Commitment to Quality and Hospitality; as demonstrated during all interactions with customers and employees providing “simply the best”Excellent interpersonal and communication skills when dealing with customers and employees
- Experience in Banquets
- Supervisory experience and the ability to team build and motivate staff
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure while multi-tasking.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles, including cash balancing and associated paperwork
- Excel and Word experience an asset
- Detail-oriented, creative, resourceful and energetic
- Smart Serve Certified
- Graduate of a college Hospitality/Convention Management program or the equivalent in experience
