Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have passion for the Autobody field. As a Shop Assistant, you will support our technicians in various tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the shop while gaining valuable hands-on experience in the automotive industry. You will also be sanding and preparing cars for paint and assisting the paint technician when required.
Duties
- Assist technicians with autobody repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Perform routine shop maintenance, including cleaning and organizing work areas.
- Help with heavy lifting of automotive parts and equipment as needed.
- Maintain inventory of tools and supplies, ensuring everything is in good working order.
- Cleaning of vehicles, including washing exterior
- Collaborate with the team to improve shop efficiency and workflow.
- Sanding and preparing vehicles for paint
Requirements
- Strong work ethic and ability to work with various hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Taking direction from lead hand and boss and executing tasks is mandatory
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn from experienced technicians.
- Previous experience as a shop hand or in an automotive shop is advantageous but not mandatory.
