BC Place Stadium is hiring a part-time Audio Visual (AV) Broadcast Technician to join the Facility Operations team.
Reporting to the Manager, Facility Operations, the AV Technician supports the setup, operation, and maintenance of all audio-visual and broadcast systems within the stadium. This includes live event support for sports games, concerts, trade shows and other events. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, hands-on AV experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Set up and operate AV equipment including microphones, speakers, video walls, projectors, cameras, and LED displays.
- Ensure the smooth execution of all AV elements during live events, including pre-game, in-game, and post-game presentations.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair A/V systems which includes, but is not limited to, all production and display systems, sports scoring systems, production intercom, etc.
- Analyze and resolve technical concerns and perform maintenance duties as required.
- Perform regular inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on AV systems and equipment.
- Work closely with IT to understand and manage the integration points between AV systems and IT systems.
- Provide service excellence to internal and external clients.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Inter-Provincial or BC Trade qualification or technical qualifications required for the job. The technical qualification will be a minimum two-year diploma in technology (BCIT or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years’ building maintenance experience in an event or facility environment.
- 3 - 5 years practical experience providing technical support in a live television production environment.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and similar business software.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability in audio and video production and post-production software.
- Proven familiarity with tools of the trade and safe working practices.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills including ability to follow instructions and provide clear directions.
- Creative, highly organized and capable of multi-tasking.
- Proven self-starter with exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with supervisors, and team members from all levels, including contractors.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able and willing to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Hourly Rate of Pay: $41.62
