Gymalaya Newmarket is a recreational gymnastics facility located in Newmarket, Ontario. Gymalaya was founded in 2008 and has been serving the York Region community for over 16 years. Gymalaya state-of-the-art facility is bright, clean, colorful, and fully equipped. Our professionally developed, non-competitive curriculum is designed to build physical, mental, and social skills while having tons of fun.
We have an opening for a full-time or a part-time Assistant Gym Manager position to oversee and menage our programs. We are looking for a mature team player who is reliable and ready to grow with us. Applicants must have a strong background in gymnastics and outstanding customer service. An outgoing personality and a genuine passion for gymnastics and children are a must as well. A background in Acro dance/fitness/cheerleading / Kinesiology is also an asset.
Start Date: September 1, 2025
Your responsibilities:
- Manage all the day-to-day operations of the facility
- Provide outstanding customer service
- Supervise a team of coaches and assistants
- Maintain the facility
- Teach our programs as needed (3-10 hours/week)
- Supervise our birthday parties
- Supervise camps and other clinics offered by us
- Conduct and participate in our staff training meetings and clinics
You must have:
- A proven record of teaching gymnastics, Acro dance, cheerleading or physical education
- An outstanding customer service
- A big smile on your face and endless enthusiasm
- Have an outgoing personality
- Have a genuine passion for gymnastics and physical activity
- Be passionate about working with young children and toddlers.
- Have a flexible schedule and the ability to work daytime/evening/weekend shifts
- Able to commit to a long term employment
- Be mature, reliable, and punctual
- Be a great team player
- Knowledge of the "Jack Rabbit Class" computer program is an asset.
