Projects and job sites will vary and are primarily located between Victoria and Campbell River, BC but may also include other areas of Vancouver Island.
KEY EXPECTATIONS:
- Demolition, hazardous material and cleanup of existing building structures
- Preparation of job site for general construction
- Construction containment, including shower and decontamination.
- Perform hazardous building material abatement activities under the direction of the site supervisor.
- General labour and cleanup.
- Be self motivated with the ability to work independently as part of a team.
- All other related duties as assigned.
- Valid BC Asbestos Awareness, Level 2 certification
- Previous experience in hazardous material removal and/or asbestos abatement preferred.
- Valid British Columbia Class 5 Drivers license preferred.
- Ability to travel to various work sites around Vancouver Island.
- Comply with applicable legislation, with attention to asbestos abatement and occupational health & safety.
- Operate equipment in a manner as not to cause damage to the equipment or any surrounding structures or impediments and to do so safely to ensure the safety of themselves and others onsite.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in areas under deconstruction and contamination.
- Push, pull, lift up to 23kg (50lbs)
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE),
- Ability to wear specialized PPE, including full protective hazmat and respirator.
- Ability to stand, walk on varied terrain.
- Ability to kneel, bend, stretch.
