We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Carpenter Apprentice to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals looking to start or continue their career in carpentry and construction. The Carpenter Apprentice will work under the guidance of experienced carpenters, learning essential skills and techniques while contributing to various projects, including residential and commercial construction. This role involves hands-on work, requiring physical stamina and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist skilled carpenters in the installation of structures and fixtures made from wood, steel studs, and wallboard.
- Participate in the restoration and repair of existing structures, ensuring quality workmanship.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications.
- Operate power tools and equipment safely, including saws, drills, and sanders.
- Perform heavy lifting and manual labor as required on job sites.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of carpentry techniques and tools is preferred but not required; eagerness to learn is essential.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings is a plus.
- Experience with power tools and heavy machinery is advantageous.
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
- Familiarity with interior finishes, flooring installation, and concrete work is beneficial.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions from supervisors effectively.
- General computer skills
