Nature and Scope
Reporting to the Athletics Events and Promotions Coordinator, the voice of the Wolves has a pleasing tone to the ear and is expressive with a contagious enthusiasm. This position creates an exciting, interactive atmosphere for the teams and fans alike by providing an expressive commentary during the game.
Job Duties
- Announces players and coaching staff.
- Provides play-by-play commentary.
- Comments are respectful and neutral towards the visiting team and officials.
- Uses appropriate language and good judgement at all times.
- Promotes upcoming Students’ Association events, games and PSA’s.
- Works with other minor officials to assure effective and accurate game tracking.
- Available to attend all varsity home games.
- Master of Ceremonies at the Annual Athletic Awards Night.
- Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Enrolled as an Algonquin College Student.
- Previous experience announcing sporting events.
- Knowledge of volleyball and basketball would be an asset.
- Focused and attentive, with a strong attention to detail.
- Enthusiastic and spontaneous, a quick thinker, never at a loss for words.
- Speaks clearly and is easily understood.
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently with limited supervision.
- Responsible, punctual, and mature.
- Attentive to the diversity of culture and gender sensitivities.
Compensation:
- $40.00 per game
- September to April
