Purpose:
YUSA 2 staff support the full-time staff in enhancing the student athlete experience and supporting a high performance team environment in Varsity Athletics. The Varsity Athletics Representative, under the direction of the manager oversees the travel, payroll and scheduling responsibilities for the Varsity Athletics program. This position requires commitment and adherence to the values and principles of Athletics & Recreation as expressed in the mandate of the department.
Education:
University degree/College Diploma preferred
Experience:
Some previous related work experience (6 months) required. Experience with travel administration, basic financial processes, and program/event support. Varsity sport experience is an asset.
Skills:
The Varsity Athletics Representative must be able to communicate to peers, coaches and student athletes. good communication skill and leadership is a must. This position requires knowledge of regulations and industry standards relating to a high performance Varsity Athletics program competing within the OUA and CIS.Competency in use of Microsoft Word (formatting, typing, spelling, grammar), Excel (creating spreadsheets, formulas, multi-tab functioning). Working knowledge of OUA and CIS.
