Job Summary
Cables Plus is looking for an experienced installation technician to install, service and repair a variety of alarm and security related product lines.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Installs a variety of alarm systems and appropriate devices; dismantles and re-constructs equipment as required by customers or Cables Plus. Conducts service calls and pre-wires of commercial and residential premises. Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
- Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation or repair/service to verify schedule.
- Follows proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures. Tests operation of system(s) to meet customer requirements.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Some technical school training desired.
- Minimum of 5 years of on-the-job training or classroom training with various alarm types including DSC, Paradox and Honeywell.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the installation and programming of CCTV, and ACCESS control systems.
- Must be able to meet government of Canada security screening to “Reliable”.
- WHMIS training, working at heights training certificate is an asset.
Skills
- Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times.
- Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
