The primary purpose of the Addictions Clinical Counselor role is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals struggling with substance use disorders, helping them navigate recovery and regain control over their lives. This position plays a critical role in fostering a safe and supportive environment where clients receive guidance, treatment, and coping strategies tailored to their unique needs.
The Addictions Clinical Counselor will achieve this by conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, facilitating one-on-one and group therapy sessions, and collaborating with medical professionals to ensure holistic care. They will also provide crisis intervention, support relapse prevention efforts, and educate clients and their families on the recovery process.

Qualifications
● Diploma in Social Support Worker program or equivalent
● Certification with CACCF or ability and willingness to obtain
● Experience in addiction counseling or mental health services
● Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing
● Strong understanding of substance use disorders, recovery models, and relapse prevention strategies
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
● Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
● Experience working with diverse populations and multidisciplinary teams
● Proficiency in documentation and case management system
● Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license for client outreach and community-based services
