Grove Park Home is a not-for-profit, charitable organization dedicated to providing high-quality care and services for seniors in Barrie and the surrounding area. For over 50 years, we have been a trusted part of the community, offering a comprehensive continuum of care that includes: Long-Term Care, A Boutique Retirement Residence, An Adult Day Program.
Currently, Grove Park Home is undergoing an exciting multi-year redevelopment project. While we are temporarily operating as a 113-bed long-term care facility during this phase, the project will ultimately expand our capacity to 145 long-term care beds, allowing us to serve even more individuals in need.

We are seeking a casual position to add to our Team. The Life Enrichment staff reports directly to the Director of Resident Family Services. The Life Enrichment staff is accountable for the provision of a range of rehabilitative and leisure programming that meets the residents physical, social, and emotional, spiritual and intellectual needs. These programs must be of high quality, evidenced based, and provided in a manner that is consistent with Grove Park Home’s Vision and Mission Statements, the Long Term Care Guidelines and other applicable regulations and guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completed or working towards a degree, or diploma in Rec and Leisure or Social Services and Gerontology.
- Experience working with the elderly and cognitively impaired
- Must be computer literate and experience on Point Click Care, RAI-MDS would be a definite asset.
- Initiative, creative, strong organizational skills, well developed communication skills
- Must be able to work independently and also be a strong team player
- Must be available for days, evenings and weekends
- Class “F” license, and/or musical ability, and/or dementia experience an asset
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
- Sound knowledge regarding the principles of activation techniques and their application in meeting the biopsychosocial needs of the older adult as a unique individual.
- Understand the concepts of aging and person-centered care and how to apply them.
- Computer experience and keyboarding ability – Point Click Care documentation
