We are looking for an experienced Account Manager / Client Relationship Manager to be the bridge between our clients and our technical team, ensuring smooth communication and exceptional service delivery.
Position Overview:
The Account Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, managing relationships, overseeing service delivery, and ensuring client satisfaction. This role requires a blend of relationship-building, project coordination, and business advisory skills—ideal for someone with accounting or financial services experience who enjoys working closely with clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the main contact for assigned clients, fostering strong and lasting relationships.
- Understand each client’s business needs, challenges, and goals to recommend appropriate services.
- Schedule and lead regular check-ins to review deliverables, deadlines, and potential opportunities.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with internal accountants, bookkeepers, and tax specialists to ensure timely, accurate completion of work.
- Monitor project timelines and proactively address delays or bottlenecks.
- Oversee client onboarding, ensuring a smooth transition into the firm’s processes.
Advisory & Support
- Translate technical accounting and tax information into clear, actionable advice for clients.
- Identify opportunities for clients to benefit from additional firm services (tax planning, payroll, advisory, etc.).
- Handle escalated issues promptly and professionally.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate client records in CRM and project management systems.
- Ensure all engagement letters, compliance documents, and billing processes are completed accurately.
- Assist with collections and payment follow-ups when needed.
Qualifications:
Required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in account management, client relationship, or similar role—preferably in an accounting, financial services, or professional services environment.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting/tax terminology and processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust quickly.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/project management tools.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a public accounting firm.
- Familiarity with cloud accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, etc.).
- Post-secondary education in accounting, business administration, or related field.
