Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Access Control Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of access control systems, ensuring the security and integrity of our facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of low voltage systems, electrical components, and computer networking to effectively manage and enhance our security infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain access control systems including card readers, keypads, and biometric devices.
- Conduct regular inspections and troubleshooting of existing systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to build and implement security solutions that meet organizational needs.
- Read and interpret schematics to assist in the installation and repair of access control systems.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during installations and repairs.
- Integrate CCTV systems with access control solutions for enhanced security monitoring.
- Maintain accurate records of system configurations, installations, and maintenance activities.
- Provide technical support for computer hardware related to access control systems.
- Assist in the design and implementation of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in low voltage electrical work or related fields is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to work with various hand tools.
- Familiarity with computer networking principles and practices is essential.
- Experience with CCTV systems is a plus.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings related to security systems is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in a similar role or industry will be considered an asset.

Pay: $17.75-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
