1.0 FTE Regular Family School Liaison Counsellor – 37.5hrs/wk- (Milk River Ridge and Warner School)
Hours of work include: Monday-Thursday 8:00 – 4:30 & three (3) Fridays 8:00-1:00 and one (1) Friday scheduled 9:00-3:30pm.
Horizon School Division is searching for a full-time permanent Family School Liaison Counsellor. The successful candidate must hold a degree in Social Work, or a Master’s Degree in Counselling or related discipline. The candidate must be registered or eligible for a professional association including Canadian Counselling Association, College of Alberta Psychologists, College of Social Workers or The Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta. Experience in counselling children and adolescents is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will be required to provide counselling services for students at our Taber and Rural area schools. Mileage for travel in between schools is provided.
The Family School Liaison Counsellor is required to:
- provide one-to-one counselling for students/families
- facilitate counselling groups for students
- provide classroom presentations
- liaison with other professionals in the community
- attend collaborative team meetings and individual student plan meetings
- appropriate clinical documentation that complies with legal and College requirements
- provide crisis response intervention in the schools
