1.0 FTE Regular Child and Youth Care Worker- 37.5 hrs/wk
Assignment- Monday- Thursday 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Three (3) Fridays 8:30 a.m.-12:05 p.m. and one (1) Friday 9:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.
The successful candidate must hold a minimum of CYCW diploma or a degree in Psychology/Social Work, or related discipline and be eligible for registration with a governing body. Extensive experience in working with children and adolescents is required. The successful candidate will provide group work and one on one skill building support for students. We are seeking an individual who is student-centered and team-oriented and has comprehensive knowledge around mental health issues.
The CYCW position will be based out of several of Horizon School Division Rural Schools based on need.
The Child and Youth Care Worker is required to:
- provide one-to-one support for students and families in consultation with the Family School Liaison Counsellor
- facilitate support groups for students
- provide classroom presentations
- liaison with other professionals in the community
- provide crisis response intervention in the schools
