Who We Are
Montreal Improv is a vibrant theatre dedicated to comedy, creativity, and community. With over 400 shows each year, we provide an energetic and welcoming space for performers and audiences alike. We are currently hiring 3 Venue Managers to ensure our theatre runs smoothly during shows and that guests enjoy a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
What You’ll Do
A typical shift may include:
- Arriving 45 minutes before showtime to set up the theatre (chairs, candles, overall readiness)
- Ensuring bathrooms are fully stocked with toilet paper, soap, and paper towels
- Greeting guests, selling tickets, and checking tickets at the door
- Assisting bar staff as needed during shows
- End-of-show duties:
- Returning chairs to proper layout
- Taking out trash and recycling
- Cleaning bathrooms (restocking, broom, mop, sanitize)
- Sweeping and mopping the theatre floor
- Closing the venue alongside bar staff
Please note: Venue Managers cannot perform while working their shift.
What We’re Looking For
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to keeping the venue clean and welcoming
- Friendly and professional with guests
- Ability to work evenings and weekends (Thursday–Sunday, approx. 400 shows/year)
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be fluent in French
- Previous cleaning, ticketing, or venue experience is an asset
