Holland Marsh Wineries is searching for an energetic, sales driven individual for a full-time position as an assistant venue coordinator. Our associates must represent our award-winning hospitality and customer service through guest interaction, communications, venue tours, tastings and sales. The position will start as an "assistant" for the initial 3 months and will develop into a primary role.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform venue tours with clients
- Developing strong customer relationships through appropriate client communication and the use of professional, courteous and ethical interaction
- Prompt follow up on inquiries by email or phone
- Complete client contracts and manage client accounts
- Planning and executing events from booking to initiation (presence during each event is mandatory)
- Organize all client meetings & consultations prior to event date
- Complete function sheets and banquet orders for all upcoming weddings and events
- Available to work evening and weekends (especially “on season” i.e late spring-fall)
- Able to troubleshoot any issue on the spot- Provide administrative support to owner/sales team
- Customer service including selling wines and promoting winery services
- Perform other duties as requested
Skills & Experience
- College or University degree in Event Planning/Hospitality Preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
- Ability to handle a wide range of customers and multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Team oriented with an ability to work independently
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and accurate work practices
- Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms
- Must have valid driver’s license and reliable form of transportation
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Commitment to self-development and continuous learning
- General wine knowledge an asset but willing to train the right candidate
- Must be able to meet physical requirements including lifting 40 lbs
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
