Position Objective:

Porsche Cars Canada is seeking a passionate and strategic Technical Training Manager to drive the development and delivery of After Sales training programs that empower our Porsche Centre teams and internal staff across Canada.

As the Technical Training Manager, you will be at the forefront of shaping the knowledge and skills that define Porsche’s After Sales service. You’ll design and execute training strategies that ensure every technician and team member is equipped to deliver the precision, performance, and customer satisfaction that define the Porsche brand.

What You’ll Do:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a national Technical Training strategy for Porsche Centre personnel and internal employees.
  • Program Development: Create and manage technical, product, system, and skills training programs tailored to evolving needs.
  • Certification Oversight: Lead the regional Zertifizierter Porsche Techniker (ZPT) program, ensuring high standards of technical excellence.
  • Training Centre Operations: Oversee daily operations, including tools, equipment, PIWIS diagnostic testers, and training vehicle fleet.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track After Sales Training KPIs and implement improvements based on insights.
  • Digital Learning Management: Maintain Porsche Academy content and manage course waitlists and inbox inquiries.
  • Collaboration & Support: Partner with Tech-Line, dealership technicians, and the Porsche Experience Centre Toronto to support training initiatives.
  • Global Engagement: Participate in the Global Trainer Qualification Program and contribute to international training standards.
  • Project Leadership: Take on ad hoc projects and additional duties to support the growth and innovation of Technical Training in Canada.

What You'll Bring:

Education:

  • College degree in Automotive Technology, Business Administration/Management or equivalent work experience
  • Completed Automotive Service Technician Canadian 310-S license
  • Porsche/Volkswagen Group High-Voltage Expert (HVE) certification preferred
  • Advanced automotive or engineering coursework preferred
  • Porsche Silver or Gold Level Certified Porsche Technician (ZPT) preferred
  • Adult learning certifications/diplomas university or college level for instructional facilitation and or instructional design preferred

Experience:
(Job and Industry)

  • Minimum 5 years of automotive technical retail/wholesale experience, 8 years preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of automotive OEM/wholesale experience preferred
  • Detailed experience working with Porsche products or Volkswagen Group brands preferred
  • Comfortable with public-speaking and leading group sessions and workshops
  • Direct experience working with Porsche and/or Volkswagen Group brand warranty processes and systems
  • Hybrid or High Voltage experience preferred

Skills and Competencies:

  • Superior presentation and speaking skills in English
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, spelling, grammar and composition skills
  • Excellent overall understanding of automotive technology and repair, Porsche and/or Volkswagen Group brand(s) product preferred
  • Natural leadership ability; team player with consensual approach
  • Video editing and web-based training creation
  • Superior organization, communication, time management, and reporting skills
  • Systematic thinker; ability to work at conceptual and detail levels
  • Advanced PC skills with accent on Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
  • Self-directed, requiring limited supervision
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required
