About the role
As an Engineering Technician at Babcock, you will contribute to the engineering and maintenance support of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) assets and associated Repairable Items for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
Your work will focus on sustaining the technical integrity of the ADF GSE fleet, ensuring that approved changes to maintenance regimes, parts, and publications are accurately implemented. You will report to the Technical Team Lead and collaborate closely with Operating Units, the RAAF Mechanical Equipment and Operational Maintenance Section (MEOMS), Joint Logistics Command (JLC), and other Commonwealth contractors.
In this role, you will investigate and analyse defect reports, assess engineering change requests, and develop approved engineering modifications. You will perform technical and safety evaluations of new items and proposed changes to existing equipment to establish preventive maintenance regimes. You will also prepare and submit updates to technical records, publications, and data for approval, while managing the configuration baseline of GSE assets to ensure maintenance policies and documentation reflect current standards.
You will be responsible for approving spare parts for planned servicing within ERP systems and the Australian Defence Aviation Authorised Spares System (ADAASS), and for coordinating corrective maintenance activities with third-party providers when repairs exceed ADF capabilities.
To be successful in this position you will bring:
- Practical experience within ERP Master Data
- Significant exposure within a relevant Engineering function
- Experience within a technical trade
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Defence Security Clearance as defined by AGSVA guidelines
- Excellent technical communication skills- written and verbal
