Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Stable Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong work ethic. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the stables, caring for horses, and assisting with various farm operations. The Stable Worker will play a crucial role in ensuring that the animals are healthy and that the facilities are well-maintained.
Duties
- Clean and maintain stables, including mucking out stalls and ensuring proper bedding for horses.
- Feed and water horses according to established schedules and dietary requirements.
- Groom horses, including brushing, hoof care, and checking for injuries or health issues.
- Assist with the handling of horses during grooming, saddling, and other activities as needed.
- Operate farm machinery safely for tasks such as moving hay or cleaning equipment.
- Perform regular maintenance on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal functionality.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to feed bags, hay bales, and other supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with horses or in a stable environment is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge is beneficial for operating and maintaining farm machinery.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by the job duties.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to animal welfare.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
