THE ROLE
As the Sports Maintenance Person, you are responsible for maintaining grounds and indoor/outdoor facilities as well as perform checks and minor maintenance on equipment. You will also issue and receive sports equipment, ensure maintenance of the facilities is completed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), repair or replace defective or worn-out parts and components using hand, power or specially designed tools, test and adjust repaired products and inspect equipment and facilities for safety and take corrective action. You ensure safety and emergency procedures are followed, and respond to fire alarms and other emergencies, as well as perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
An acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience
A valid driver’s license (NB)
Experience
In the issuing of sports equipment
In the preparation and maintenance of outdoor sports facilities
In equipment maintenance
In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail, and Internet browsing
Competencies, Skills and Abilities
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
English Essential, Bilingual (English and French) an asset.
