Job Summary:
The Shipper/Receiver Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the shipping and receiving department. This role involves supervising a team to ensure the accurate and efficient loading and unloading of trucks, proper handling of incoming goods, and timely shipping of outgoing products. The supervisor will ensure that all operations comply with safety standards, organizational policies, and inventory management procedures. This position requires leadership, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high levels of accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead the shipping and receiving team to ensure efficient, accurate handling of shipments.
- Verify incoming goods against purchase orders and shipping documents for accuracy.
- Oversee packing, labeling, and shipping processes to meet company policies and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Monitor inventory levels and resolve discrepancies.
- Train, guide, and ensure team compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
- Coordinate with logistics and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and certification of shipping and receiving equipment.
- Review and prepare accurate Bills of Lading for shipments.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure regulatory compliance for all shipments.
- Resolve discrepancies related to short, over, or damaged products.
- Ensure compliance with export documentation and customs requirements.
- Analyze performance metrics and implement process improvements.
- Communicate with internal teams and external carriers to ensure timely deliveries.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse roles.
- Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Forklift certified with experience operating warehouse equipment.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
- Understanding of shipping/receiving procedures, including Bills of Lading and regulatory compliance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-department collaboration.
- Ability to manage stress, meet deadlines, and resolve issues related to shipments and inventory.
- Familiarity with export requirements and international carriers is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Previous warehouse or logistics experience preferred.
- Ability to work in varying warehouse conditions, including exposure to temperature changes.
- Availability to work outside regular hours as needed based on shipping schedules.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 per hour
