Overview
The Safety Administrator is responsible for supporting and implementing the Health and Safety program within the company. They assist management to implement, maintain, and monitor Power Pros health and safety program, review and identify various health and safety issues specific to the work sites and company operations, and communicate effectively with management and workers regarding all aspects of Power Pros health and safety program.
What will I be doing?
- Conducting health and safety orientations for new employees and employees changing jobs, positions, or departments
- Evaluating needs and purchase PPE (vests, gloves, eyeglasses)
- Organizing and chairing JOHS committee meetings and taking meeting minutes
- Conducting incident investigations
- Implementing Power Pros safety program by working closely with the company's workplace health and safety consultants with responsibilities including COR audits, maintaining paper records, ensuring requirements are being met both in the field and in the office, conducting incident investigations and reporting to WorkSafeBC
- Working with department managers and HR to write return-to-work plans and modified work offers
- Ensuring safety training requirements are met, and scheduling safety training sessions as needed
- Documenting safety training certificates for all employees in BambooHR and SiteDocs
- Sending out weekly toolbox talks
- Reviewing safety paperwork and assess compliance
- Maintaining incident statistics and identify trends
- Implementing corrective actions
- Scheduling and completing annual respirator fit tests for employees and new hires
- Maintaining health and safety board and binders
- Ensuring first aid kits are fully stocked, and fire extinguishers are up to date
- Reporting in an accurate, professional, objective and timely way when workplace safety standards are not in compliance
- Administrating the company Safety software (SiteDocs)
- Reviewing initial safety onboarding of new subcontractors, and ongoing compliance for vendors and subcontractors
- Other office administration tasks as assigned
What I bring to to Power Pros:
- Experience in the construction or electrical industry
- NHSA (National Health and Safety Administrator) certification is an asset
- Certificate, diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources Management or other related fields
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and experience using SiteDocs and BambooHR
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively
- Experience in incident investigations and workplace injury management
- Class 5 drivers license
- First Aid Certificate
- Fit Tester Certificate

Pay: $30.00-$34.00 per hour
