What You Will Do
The work will take place in the RSEM Shop and/or on location at any TTC facility where you will be performing a variety of duties in support of the operation of fare dispensing/collection/transaction equipment including but not limited to: PRESTO machines, Proof of Payment (POP), , Faregate/LDC, and security devices such as vaults, receivers and pedestals throughout the TTC. Performing varied and complex work involving the inspection, maintenance, overhaul, commissioning modification, repair, testing, calibration and troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, and mechanical components of above listed equipment, or other RSEM equipment as required. Performing various assignments from quick repair nature to complete analysis of equipment failures and major component replacement, which may involve but not limit to: bench work associated with set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components and assemblies; and/or removal, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and reinstalling components; and/or conduct/verify the installation, commissioning and operating of above mentioned equipment.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?
- Successfully completed training obtained through the completion of Grade 12, (technical program) or its equivalent as determined by the Training Department, including trade subjects in machine shop practice, electrical theory and MIG/TIG welding.
- must have successfully completed courses in electrical theory comparable to those offered in Part 1 of the Vehicle Electricians Program.
- must have successfully completed Community College level courses approved by the TTC in electrical theory and industrial electronics; or provide proof of equivalence from an accredited academic institution.
- Recent practical experience working with solid state equipment.
- Required to pass an electronics test set by the TTC’s Operations Branch.
- Valid non-probationary Class "G" or better province of Ontario Driver's License.
- As the successful candidate, you will be required to attend and successfully complete the Operations Training Centre's programs for the operation of a TTC vehicle, Subway/SRT Rule Book and WHMIS certification.
- must pass the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) check.
- must successfully pass a physical assessment
- Note: Must provide a set of hand tools as per the established tool list.
