Four Counties Addiction Services Team (Fourcast) is a community-based addiction treatment service provider that strives to provide the highest quality of evidence-based addiction treatment and case management services. Fourcast offers services across 5 sites in the region. The community treatment program staff work in-office and community settings and are often co-located and integrated with other organizations to reduce barriers for those accessing services.
About The Position...
We are looking for experienced individuals for our soon to open Residential Treatment Centre:
The position is every other Saturday and Sunday 8am - 4pm
Fourcast’s 35-Day Intensive Residential Program supports service users to explore their goals related to substance use. The Program offers a structured treatment plan with activities seven days per week while the individual resides at Fourcast residential treatment site or in their home setting. The program will assist individuals to develop skills to manage substance use and related problems.
Under the direction of the Program Manager – Residential Programs, the Residential Addictions Worker provides essential support to service users by assisting with daily activities and personal care within a residential addiction recovery centre. This role includes supportive coaching, crisis intervention, conflict mediation, and facilitation of psycho-educational groups and community meetings, as well as evening and weekend program activities. In collaboration with Residential Addiction Counsellors, the Residential Addictions Worker helps implement and facilitate structured recovery programs, ensuring service users actively engage in therapeutic activities, skill-building exercises, and daily living tasks. They play a vital role in maintaining program integrity and supporting service users in their journey toward recovery, helping them build the tools necessary to meet their personal goals.
Additionally, the Residential Addictions Worker is responsible for maintaining the overall safety of the residence, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for service users during their stay.

What We're Looking For:
Education & Training
- Requires a college diploma or certificate in the Human/Social Services field (e.g., Social Service Worker, Human Services Worker, Addiction Worker.
- Food Handling Certification
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a related addictions or mental health setting.
Certifications, Licenses and Records
- Valid First Aid/CPR.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certificate.
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) an asset.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of harm reduction philosophy and practice as it relates to healthcare, mental health and addiction interventions.
- Knowledge of issues related to mental health and addictions in hospital and community settings along with awareness of common theories and interventions for supporting individuals facing complex addiction challenges.
- Understanding of substance use, mental health and concurrent disorders and have a demonstrated ability to identify challenges in substance use and mental health recovery.
- Knowledge of withdrawal symptoms for various substances and understanding of withdrawal management and the impact this has on physical and mental health.
- Experience in the use of evidence-based screening tools used with those experiencing substance use and mental health challenges.
- Commitment to service user focused philosophy of care.
