In collaboration with our lawyers, the selected candidate will support our legal team, composed of two lawyers, in carrying out their daily tasks.
***This position is to be filled immediately and is 100% in-person at our offices.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare commercial leases, as well as renewals, amendments, and lease assignments;
- Draft demand letters, notices of default, and complete various forms;
- Conduct research, including on SOQUIJ, at the Enterprise Registrar, Corporations Canada, the Land Register, and extra-provincial corporate registries;
- Perform verifications in the computerized registry of court records (civil, criminal, and penal records);
- File annual declarations with the Enterprise Registrar and annual reports with Corporations Canada;
- Maintain the organization’s corporate records books;
- Assemble the required documentation for real estate and financing transactions;
- Perform various administrative tasks, including management, updating, and follow-up of physical and digital files;
- Perform any other related tasks.
Required Education:
- AEC in Paralegal Studies
Required Experience:
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in corporate law, real estate, and leasing.
Skills:
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as legal drafting skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work independently, and meet deadlines
- Sense of professionalism, discretion, and client-oriented approach
- Bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written, as we manage properties in Quebec and outside of Quebec
