About the Job
We’re on the hunt for an experienced Product Manager at our Walker Office in Oakville, ON. Reporting directly to the Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for ensuring current and new innovative products go from idea to market successfully. You will articulate successful criteria, rally the Sales, Technical, and Research & Development (R&D) teams, and support the Walker Emulsions group’s goals for commercialization of new products. This position requires skills in identifying, analyzing, evaluating business opportunities, then creating and implementing marketing campaigns.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to support product lifecycle—from ideation to market.
- Test product functionality and appeal, using KPIs and customer feedback to guide decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate successful new product launches.
- Support the introduction, transfer, and withdrawal of products as needed.
- Shape go-to-market plans covering pricing, advertising, and promotion.
- Stay informed on market trends and translate insights into growth strategies.
- Monitoring effectiveness of marketing campaigns and proactively adjusts based on the results and the market and consumer behaviour.
- Determining brand building and strategies. Coordinating the development and execution of marketing elements.
- Provide feedback to R&D based on customer needs and market direction.
- Occasional travel locally and overnight through North America (15% of time) to meet with customers and will require a valid passport required for travel outside of Canada. Rarely travel will be necessary outside of North America
Here’s What You Need
- 4 years of experience in product management, preferably in chemical industry.
- 2–3-year college diploma or equivalent education in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, or Marketing.
- A valid Ontario G driver’s license.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills—you’re the link between technical teams and customer needs.
- Able to work with little to no supervision and to take discretionary action as required.
