Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food handling and safety practices, with experience in the food industry, particularly in restaurant settings. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in meal preparation, ensuring that our kitchen operates efficiently and that our dishes meet the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and marinating.
- Follow recipes and instructions to ensure consistent meal preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards.
- Help with inventory management by labeling and storing food items appropriately.
- Collaborate kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
- Monitor food quality during preparation and report any issues to the head cook or chef.
- Participate in daily kitchen operations, including cleaning tasks at the end of shifts.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling and safety regulations is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with other kitchen staff.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques and recipes.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Schedule
2-3 shifts per week. 7am-3pm.
Consistent schedule.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.20-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 14 – 24 per week
