The North Bay Police Service is currently accepting applications for the position of permanent part-time Crime Stoppers Coordinator. This position is responsible for receiving anonymous public information and disseminate this information to various Police Services and outside agencies and liaising with the Crime Stoppers Board of Directors.
PREREQUISITE
- Proven effective report writing skills
- Previous policing experience or related employment.
- Previous experience working with volunteer Boards.
- Proven effective communication skills.
- Effective computer skills.
PRINCIPAL TASKS
- Liaise with Board of Directors of Near North Crime Stoppers, the OPP Coordinator, other Crime Stoppers program personnel and the local media in order to enhance the effectiveness of the program.
- Respond to telephone calls, mail and electronic communications.
- Collect, analyze and disseminate information to appropriate Police and non-police agencies as required.
- Ensure timely return and proper handling of TIP information.
- Document and present requests to Crime Stoppers Board of Directors.
- Promote the Crime Stoppers program within the Service and in the community by providing training and presentations.
- Maintain and report on records and statistics as required by the Ontario Association of Crime Stoppers Board, the Near North Crime Stoppers Board and in accordance with Service policy and procedures.
- Assist in television crime re-enactments as required.
- Take additional training as required.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Compensation: $39.76 - $43.00 per hour
Candidates will be evaluated in several stages, which will include testing, panel interview, personality assessment and a background investigation.
