Transdev Canada is hiring an Operations Manager for our Victoria location.
As the Operations Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the contract and facility, ensuring the safety of both personnel and passengers. In addition, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and managing financial performance.
Your role
- Supervise and lead a team of unionized transportation professionals, including drivers, dispatchers, and maintenance staff.
- Foster a collaborative and motivated workforce, promoting teamwork and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Manage the daily operations of the transportation facility, including scheduling, dispatching, maintenance, and fleet management.
- Ensure that all routes are operated efficiently on time, and in compliance with service standards.
- Uphold and enforce safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment for employees and passengers.
- Conduct regular safety training, audits, and inspections to minimize accidents and incidents.
- Adjudicates step two grievances while maintaining a positive labour relations environment.
- Maintain a strong commitment to exceptional customer service, addressing passenger inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in service quality and passenger satisfaction.
- Assist in budgeting and financial forecasting for the operations department.
- Implement cost-effective strategies to optimize resources and control expenses.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency and make data-driven improvements.
- Develop and implement action plans to achieve operational goals and targets.
- Collaborate with external vendors, partners, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth operations and compliance with contractual agreements and regulations.

Your profile
- You have a valid driver's license.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Proven experience in transportation operations management, preferably in the public transit or mobility services industry.
- Experience in supervisory capacity of unionized employees will be consider an asset.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance in the transportation sector.
- Thorough knowledge of the methods of operation of the transit system’s staff and operational departments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in transportation management software and systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing operational needs
Your location :
- This is a full-time, on-site position located in Victoria, BC.
- Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
- There is a requirement to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- Work hours will include evenings and weekends.
