Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office by providing administrative support, managing patient interactions, and maintaining accurate medical records. This position requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in various electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a commitment to upholding patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Duties
- Greet patients and manage front desk operations, including answering multi-line phone systems and scheduling appointments.
- Perform insurance verification and assist with medical billing processes.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation, ensuring compliance with PHIPA standards.
- Utilize JUNO EmR system for patient data entry and retrieval.
- Assist in traiging the patient before being seen by the physician
- Handle medical collections and coding tasks 0.
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Support clinical staff with clerical tasks including filing, typing, and managing health information management systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient office operations and high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance processes, and coding practices (OHIP coding)
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and
- Strong computer skills with the ability to type accurately and efficiently (10 key typing is a plus).
