Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Assistant to join our administrative team. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll operations, and ensuring accurate billing for our medical team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in bookkeeping and is comfortable working with confidential financial information in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and audit employee commissions and timesheets for accuracy and compliance
- Process biweekly payroll in a timely and confidential manner
- Perform bookkeeping duties including accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliation
- Assist with physician billing and ensure accurate documentation and submission to Alberta Health
- Maintain financial records, spreadsheets, and digital reports
- Support the Clinic Supervisor with administrative financial tasks and reporting
- Assist during internal and external audits as required
Qualifications:
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in payroll, bookkeeping, or accounting support
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Ceridian, or similar platforms)
- Knowledge of Alberta Health physician billing is considered an asset
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and time management skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
- Strong organizational and communication skills

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36.7 per week
