Student Accessibility Services (SAS) is a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who support over 5,700 students with disabilities, develop accommodation plans, provide learning strategies support, note-taking services, transcription services, support for assistive technology, test administration, and exam invigilation. SAS is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC)
Job Summary: Oversee accommodated tests and examinations and ensure adherence to University standards. Responsible for the set-up of examination rooms. Responsible for the recruitment, training and oversight of casual invigilation staff.
Purpose and Key Functions:
- Coordinate test and examination arrangements in rooms, including technical set-up, to ensure all technical equipment is properly configured and functioning optimally.
- Liaise with internal departments for set-up of examination rooms.
- Oversee accommodated test and examinations and ensure adherence to University standards.
- Recruit and train invigilator team members
- Provide day-to-day oversight to invigilation team members
- Maintain and update incident reports based on reports from invigilators or personal observations during examinations.
- Review the format of tests and examinations to ensure compliance with University standards and accommodation requirements.
- Monitor and respond to emails and calls for last minute test updates or corrections.
- Individually packs test/exam copies along with necessary materials for each session.
- Sort and file test/exam copies for easy access and reference.
- Ensures the confidential storage and handling of all test and examination materials, maintaining academic integrity and confidentiality.
- Distributes completed test/exam packages to the appropriate invigilators or departments as per established procedures, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.
- Perform backup invigilation duties.
Supervision:
- Has ongoing responsibility for hiring and supervising 10 or more casual employees.
Requirements:
- 1 year college diploma
- Requires a up to 2 years of relevant experience.
