Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) currently has an exciting opportunity for an Internal Communications and Employee Engagement Specialist to assisting our Human Resources department. This full-time role reports to the Manager, Talent, Wellbeing and Communications.
A key focus of this role is the planning and delivery of impactful, organization-wide employee engagement initiatives and events that foster connection, collaboration, and a positive workplace culture. Working closely with HR and business leaders, the successful candidate will drive the creation of meaningful experiences that guides associate engagement and wellbeing.
In addition to event planning, the Internal Communications and Employee Engagement Specialist will provide strategic guidance on internal corporate communications. This includes advising on internal branding, ensuring alignment with external messaging, aiding streamlined communication processes, and helping to ensure that all associates receive clear and effective communication that enables them to thrive in their roles.

What You’ll be Doing:
- Direct, coordinate and communicate employee engagement events throughout the year, including the company holiday parties, summer event, service recognition events, take our kids to work day, and other events throughout the year
- Create and evolve the internal communications strategy and plan for the Company, aligning with the strategic direction and Vision, Mission and Values of Toyota Canada Inc. in partnership with the Manager, HR Talent, Wellbeing and Communications
- Prepare and oversee key internal employee communications, conducting research, analyzing data and adapting plans as necessary
- Organize and guide Executive town hall-meetings (in-person, virtual or hybrid) to ensure regional/local clarity of corporate messaging and effective meeting outcomes in partnership with the Corporate Strategy and Planning department
- Assist executive communications, collaborating with Leaders and Executive Administration for meetings and events
- Plan, coordinate and deliver monthly employee forums, oversee content coordination, deliver content on behalf of the HR department and act as a host of the forum
- Act as the primary point of contact for all associate-facing HR-related communications, with responsibility for distributing emails on behalf of HR—acting as the visible voice of internal messaging
- Oversee the creation and distribution of communication and news on the intranet site, acting as the owner of the intranet tool
- Ensure uniformity in internal communications, accounting for cultural and regional nuances
- Collaborate with external departments to uphold and maintain the Company's reputation, ensuring messaging remains aligned
- Oversee all internal communications channels to ensure uniformity and structured delivery
- Guide TCI’s Volunteer Matching Program, ensuring smooth coordination and communication with associates and community partners; collaborate with the HR Manager, External Affairs, and Corporate Strategy & Planning teams to help shape future social contribution and associate volunteer initiatives that engage, inform, and inspire associate participation
- Perform other duties as required
What You’ll Bring:
- Post-secondary diploma/degree with concentration in Communications or Public Relations preferred; HR knowledge is an asset
- Minimum 3-5 years in a Communications role(s) either internal or external focus required
- Strong aptitude in consulting and relationship management
- Excellent teamwork ethic and interpersonal skills
- Experience in project management and change management
- Exceptional planning and organizational abilities, well-versed at working with high volumes and tight timelines
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Experience in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint is required
- Bilingualism (French/English) considered a strong asset
