Human Resources Generalist

POSITION SUMMARY:
As part of a shift in current Human Resources culture from administration and compliance to People, Culture and Communication, the Human Resources Generalist will help lead Mission Services of Hamilton Inc. in full cycle recruitment (including a new orientation experience), health and wellness, equity, diversity and inclusion, and employee engagement. The Human Resources Generalist will report to the Director, People, Culture and Communication.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work collaboratively with programs to understand recruitment needs
Play a key role in the execution of projects related to the development of people and culture, targeting employee experience and engagement
Provide leadership to management in relation to supporting and building their staffing teams
Identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement to optimize team performance
Promote a positive, diverse and inclusive culture through various projects and initiatives
Manage the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process for assigned positions with a focus on creating a meaningful candidate experience
Assist the Director of People, Culture and Communication in the administration of labour relation related tasks
Provide talent analytics, tracking and trends, as it relates to employee data specifically on recruitment, turnover, and engagement
Work closely with Payroll to provide timely and relevant employee information
Maintain Human Resource Information System (HRIS), employee files, and training records
Assist with the completion of ‘stay’ and exit interviews with employees and manage the interview process’ and data collection
Assist with annual employee performance reviews
Provide support to employees in various HR related topics such as leaves, compensation etc. and resolve issues and problems
Produce data reports on turnover, demographics, learning and development activities
Oversee employee recognition platform and coordinate programs and events
Create, support and share relevant updates and communications
Provide guidance and education to ensure organizational compliance with company policies, The Employment Standards Act and current Human Resources legislation (including Ontario Human Rights and Employment Law)
Adhere to a strict policy of confidentiality
Uphold and model Mission Services’ mission, vision, values and Code of Conduct
Work safely, identify any health and safety concerns and report to management; follow Mission Services’ workplace health and safety policies and procedures at all times
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or a related discipline preferred
One to three (1-3) years of related experience is an asset
CHRP/CHRL designation, or working towards this designation
Experience working with ADP’s Workforce Payroll/HRIS is an asset
Ability to support programs with Human Resource related needs
Ability to take initiative
Able to gather feedback effectively through multiple channels
Ability to work independently as well as collectively with a team
HOURS OF WORK:
30 Hours Per Week
Monday to Friday in office

COMPENSATION:
Wage starts at $ 28.81 Per Hour
