Job Summary:
The Houseperson is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in public areas, assisting the housekeeping team, and ensuring guest satisfaction by keeping the hotel environment clean, safe, and welcoming. This role may also involve handling housekeeping supplies, responding to guest requests, and supporting room attendants with tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Public Areas Cleaning:
- Clean and maintain hotel lobbies, hallways, elevators, staircases, and other public spaces.
- Dust surfaces, vacuum carpets, mop floors, and sanitize high-touch areas.
- Ensure garbage bins are emptied and replaced promptly.
- Guest Support:
- Respond to guest requests for extra amenities, such as towels, toiletries, or cleaning supplies.
- Deliver items to guest rooms when required.
- Housekeeping Assistance:
- Support room attendants by stocking carts with linens, towels, and cleaning supplies.
- Remove dirty linens and towels from guest rooms and transport them to the laundry area.
- Restock housekeeping closets with necessary supplies.
- Safety and Cleanliness:
- Ensure compliance with hotel safety standards, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Maintain a neat and organized workspace at all times.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles is preferred.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and transport supplies, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Skills:
- Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to interact with guests and team members.
- Appearance: Professional and neat presentation in accordance with hotel standards.
- Certifications: WHMIS and WHSA required
Working Conditions:
- This role involves physical activity, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Must be available for weekend shifts and flexible scheduling for additional hours.
- Must work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.20-$18.00 per hour
