Sheraton Ottawa Hotel is currently seeking a part-time General Maintenance Worker.
**This position requires ability to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays (as per seniority)
Responsibilities:
- Respond to maintenance calls in a courteous, professional and timely manner, liaising with other operational departments as required.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs including painting, dry walling, tiling, carpentry, caulking, and other general contractor duties.
- Perform preventative maintenance assignments as required.
- Maintaining accurate log and maintenance records and monitoring stock inventory.
- Maintaining cleanliness of an integrity of mechanical areas, shop and tools.
- Maintaining fire equipment and systems and handling specific fire alarm response duties.
- Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring adherence to guidelines and legislation outlined in the occupational Health & Safety Act.
- All other duties as assigned by Management.

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and be able to answer the phone continuously.
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill required tasks.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
