Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager helps the Program Managers to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the program policies, procedures, and practices. The Assistant Manager directs the daily operations of the program, and performs hiring, dismissal, discipline, and performance evaluation of the staff team. The successful candidate ensures that program mandate, principles, policies, and procedures are followed. The Assistant Manager promotes the interests of the participants and the program in the community and ensures that the program is maximally integrated and coordinated with other systems of care. The Assistant Manager replaces the Program Manager for absences such as vacation, illness, and leaves. The Assistant Manager is part of the leadership team and works closely with other managers, the RainCity operations team, and administrative staff. A key component of this employment opportunity is the proven ability to collaborate and work alongside people of various socio-economic backgrounds.

POSITION TYPE: Temporary Full-time, 1 FTE, 80 Bi-weekly Hours
EMPLOYEE GROUP: Excluded
SALARY: $76,148.80 annually ($36.61 hourly)
TERM: Temporary until January 9, 2026, or return of incumbent
START DATE: As soon as possible
SCHEDULE: General hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 8:00am – 4:00pm, with 30 minutes unpaid break. Participation in the After-Hours On-Call rotation becomes a mandatory condition of this assignment. This includes evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday coverage as scheduled. The standard requirement is participation in the on-call rotation three (3) to four (4) times per calendar year, or as otherwise assigned based on operational needs. Flexibility in work hours is required to support this responsibility. As per Employment Standards, managers are excluded from the sections of the Act dealing with overtime entitlement.

Program Summary
Foxglove Shelter: The shelter has 30 beds which consists of separate sides for woman-identified participants and male participants on the other side. Staff provides three meals a day, there are a few rooms that can be used for non-binary folks. There are staff on site twenty-four hours a day over three separate shifts in the building. The folks in this space have access to indigenous cultural liaisons who creates programing connected to culture and build relationships with participants. There is peer support specialist available seven days a week as well. There is a medication program for the residents of the shelter for those who chose to use this service. The shelter has a wide range of referral streams that are not just limited to the coordinated access through BCH.
