Andrews Scenic Acres sells fresh produce and other farm products at its Farm Store.
The Farm Store Lead is responsible for daily management of the store and store staff. The role includes cash operations, staff supervision, and inventory control.
We are looking for a Farm Store Lead to work part time to full time hours during the fall (August - September-October).
Must be fully available weekdays and weekends.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise the staff team, provide direction and training.
- Manage daily cash operations
- Monitor product quality and inventory daily
- Complete daily and weekly inventory and sales reports, and maintain appropriate store inventory levels
- In charge of retail displays, and in-store advertisement.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Updating and organizing office files; including staff procedures, checklists, etc.
- Handle cash, card transactions, and manage receipts accurately.
- Ensure efficient checkout processes even during peak seasons like weekends or holidays.
- Field customer phone calls, voicemails, emails and social media inquiries on a daily basis
- Respond to customer complaints and concerns
- Resolve any questions, concerns, conflicts and issues among staff
- Other duties as occasionally assigned if safe and practical to do so.
Education / Knowledge
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Over 1 year of experience with retail store management is a must
- High school diploma or equivalent, some post-secondary is preferred.
- An interest in local food and/or agriculture is an asset.
- First Aid certification is an asset.
- Must have Food Handlers Certification and Smart Serve Certification (may be sponsored by the company)
- Familiarity with Microsoft office programs
- Basic computer literacy or familiarity working alongside retail POS systems
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage people effectively and foster teamwork
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Being able to work under stress and function in a fast-paced environment
- Staff management/supervision experience is a plus
Abilities
- Some medium – heavy lifting required
- Loves being outdoors, can handle the energy of crowds with a smile
- Working on weekends and holidays is expected
- Must be able to hear and see clearly as this is a working farm with moving equipment.
