We are seeking an Experienced Bread Baker to oversee our evening bread production at our Bakery Production Kitchen, starting at 2:00 PM. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will guide the team through all stages of bread production — from mixing and proofing to baking and packaging — while ensuring efficiency, consistency, and quality.
The ideal candidate has 3-5+ years of bread production experience in a high-volume bakery, strong leadership skills, and a passion for producing top-quality baked goods. You’ll lead by example, coach team members, and maintain smooth daily operations while supporting process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily bread production for our retail stores, ensuring all products meet quality and consistency standards
- Coordinate and perform tasks such as mixing, scaling, proofing, baking, and packaging
- Produce bread-based ingredients (e.g., puff pastry) for use in prepared foods at our Commissary
- Manage ordering and inventory control, ensuring ingredient availability and minimizing waste
- Train, coach, and support bakery team members to maintain speed, consistency, and safety standards
- Maintain food safety compliance, quality assurance, and health & safety standards
- Collaborate with bakery leadership on process improvements and troubleshooting production challenges
- Communicate menu changes, specials, and shortages with store and bakery retail teams
- Monitor equipment needs and maintain a clean, organized production space
- Step in at bakery stations when needed to support production flow
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of professional bread baking experience in a high-volume production or commercial bakery
- Proven leadership experience managing bakery staff and workflow
- In-depth technical knowledge of bread-making processes, proofing, and commercial baking equipment
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Computer literacy (MS Office, inventory/order management systems)
- Flexible availability to work the evening shift starting at 2:00 PM, including weekends and holidays as required
