Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Inc is seeking an Events Assistant to join our team at Fernie Alpine Resort. This role is responsible for assisting the Events Coordinator with planning, executing and reporting on all aspects of events at Fernie Alpine Resort. The ideal candidate will have experience in planning and executing outstanding events, have strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, and have a passion for the ski and snowboard industry.
Duties include assisting with:
- Volunteer coordination for events
- Collect and post event results, photos and video regularly
- Assist with staff events as required
- Prepare post-event wrap up reports for review with the Experience Manager prior to distribution
- Adhere to RCR Policy, Employee Handbook and Safety Management Program
- Assist the Marketing Department and other areas of the operation with various duties as required
Work with Marketing Manager, Marketing & Content Specialist and Design Team members to create assets and promote upcoming events
Preparation, set-up, delivery and tear down of resort events, activities and activations
Communicating event information and logistics to all stakeholders within the resort and community
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
- A friendly and an energetic team player willing to deliver a high level of customer service
- General computer skills, with experience in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- Must be an intermediate level or stronger skier or snowboarder
- Must be physically able to lift, carry and move event equipment
- Able to work in a variety of weather conditions
- A can-do attitude, not afraid to do what’s needed to get the job done
- Previous experience and/or qualifications in event planning and delivery is an asset
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive wage: $19.00-$20.00/hour, dependent on experience
