About Us


The Admissions team in the Office of the Registrar aims to recruit and admit the best international and domestic students to the University to achieve the institution’s enrolment and strategic plan objectives; to ensure that the University’s admission standards are met and maintained through exemplary customer service, the adjudication of applicants, and the implementation of Senate policies governing admission and transfer credit.

Responsibilities


The Education Evaluator will be responsible for evaluating the academic qualifications of non-international applicants to the Faculty of Education according to specific program choice. The incumbent will also review, sort, and distribute incoming Education mail to the appropriate physical location and conducting searches on PeopleSoft system to determine applicant type, status and program. The Education Evaluator will also be responsible for inputting evaluation results into PeopleSoft for use by the Faculty.

Qualifications

Education:
  • Undergraduate Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Experience:
  • 1 year of customer service experience

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and ability to perform in an open office with frequent distractions and interruptions
  • Written and verbal communication skills to express ideas clearly, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
  • Computer skills with the ability to learn and use software programs
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and competence in arithmetical concepts
  • Ability to maintain a positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
  • Ability to follow formal business practices with high attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized and effective personal work environment
  • Adapts readily and effectively to changing priorities and demands
  • Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
  • Flexibility in both interpersonal interactions and task assignment
  • Familiarity with computerized systems, specifically Peoplesoft and Laserfiche would be desirable
  • Ability to perform repetitive and tedious tasks for lengthy periods of time with accuracy
  • Strong keyboarding skills
