Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional food service to residents in our assisted living and nursing home facilities. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that meals are prepared, served, and maintained in a clean and safe environment while delivering outstanding customer service to our residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Help with food inventory management, including stocking supplies and assisting with food orders as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with residents during meal times, addressing their needs, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service and assist with cooking when required.
- Follow proper food handling procedures to maintain food quality and safety standards.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to food service in a healthcare environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food industry or food service is preferred, especially in assisted living or nursing home settings.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor towards residents and staff alike.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing time efficiently.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
- Must be able to maintain a clean work environment and adhere to sanitation standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for interacting with residents and team members.
- Must be able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Check current within 6 months of date of hire and a current TB test
- Working hours are 4pm-7pm - (4 shifts bi-weekly)
- Must be able to provide a current Food Handling Certificate
