Duties
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas
- Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
- Order supplies and equipment
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
- Clean kitchen and work areas
- Recruit and hire staff
- Organize buffets and banquets
- Manage kitchen operations
Skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Experience in food handling within the food industry or restaurant environment.
- Proficient in various cooking techniques, including grilling, sautéing, baking, and frying.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
- Passion for cooking and creating high-quality meals that meet customer expectations.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while also being open to experimenting with new dishes.
