Exploits Valley Community Coalition (EVCC) is dedicated to making a positive impact in our region by providing essential services, programs, and resources to families and individuals in our communities. We are seeking a passionate, organized, and versatile Community & Operations Coordinator to join our team.
Position Overview:
The Community & Operations Coordinator will play a key role in:
- Connecting individuals and families with vital community resources and services.
- Overseeing the smooth daily operation of EVCC’s office and administrative systems.
- Managing communications, including social media and website content, to strengthen our community presence.
This position requires someone who is empathetic, organized, and tech-savvy, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to balance diverse responsibilities.
This position is based in Grand Falls-Windsor but may require occasional travel within the Exploits Region.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Resource Coordination
- Identify, organize, and manage community resources available to individuals and families in need.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local organizations, agencies, and service providers.
- Plan and coordinate resource distribution, events, workshops, and outreach programs.
- Facilitate programming in the community, with parents and caregivers, and at the Family Resource Centres when needed.
- Maintain accurate records of resource utilization and prepare reports to assess effectiveness.
- Conduct outreach to raise awareness of EVCC programs and represent the organization at community events.
- Collaborate with EVCC’s Healthy Baby Club and Family Resource Centre staff.
Office & Administrative Management
- Organize and coordinate office operations, supplies, and procedures to ensure smooth daily functioning.
- Provide administrative support, including record keeping, correspondence, and scheduling.
- Attend meetings, take detailed minutes, and follow up on action items.
Communications & Digital Management
- Maintain and update EVCC’s website to ensure information is accurate and current.
- Develop and execute social media strategies to promote programs, events, and resources.
- Create, schedule, and manage social media content using tools such as Canva.
- Monitor and engage with audiences across digital platforms to build awareness and community engagement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma/Degree in Social Sciences, Office/Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience in community outreach, nonprofit, or administrative settings is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, take initiative, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience managing websites and social media platforms.
- Familiarity with Canva or other design tools is considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation (required for regional travel).
- Empathetic, resourceful, and committed to community service.
Compensation & Benefits:
- 35-40 hours per week
