Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support and assistance to young individuals, particularly those with developmental disabilities, in various settings including assisted living, memory care, and home care environments. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for youth through direct support, caregiving, and effective communication.
Duties
- Assist youth with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with autism and other special needs.
- Implement behavior management strategies and care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Engage in social work activities to promote emotional well-being and social skills development.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor vital signs when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties.
- Document patient care activities accurately using EMR systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for youth.
- Provide first aid when required and respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Transport youth as needed, ensuring their safety during travel.
Requirements
- Experience in caregiving or direct support roles, particularly in assisted living or nursing home settings.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and hospice care practices is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and experience with case management is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts.
- Excellent conflict management skills and the ability to handle challenging behaviors effectively.
- Valid driver’s license is required for transportation duties.
- Certification in first aid or CPR is advantageous.

Anticipated shifts:
[SHIFT A] Sundays - Tuesdays (Night) - 7pm - 7am (12hrs shift) -
[SHIFT B] Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays - 3pm - 10pm (7hrs shift specifically, 1:1 Supports)
[SHIFT C] I am flexible an doesn't matter!

Pay: $17.50-$19.50 per hour
