Job Summary
Fresh Market Foods is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, accurately process transactions, and maintain an organized front end.
Job Duties:
- Ensure accurate scanning and weighing of all products.
- Use the POS system for transactions including debit, credit cards, American money, charges, and gift cards.
- Collect payments, apply coupons, process HST exemptions, and handle purchase orders.
- Answer customer questions and provide information on promotions and sales.
- Ensure self-scan tills are stocked and sanitized and resolve technical issues with support.
- Pack purchases safely for transport, separating items by freezer, cooler, and dry goods.
- Use downtime to clean and tidy the front end
- Ensure till supplies are stocked (e.g., till paper, bags, pens).
- Stock front end products like chocolate bars, gum, candies, and beverages.
- Stay informed about current promotions and sales.
- Understand and adhere to the Scanning Code of Practice.
Terms of Employment: Permanent Full-Time (40 hours/week)

Education: Completion of high school or equivalent combination of education and experience
Work Experience: 1 year experience
Language of Work: English (Bilingual – French/English is an asset)

Transportation: Fresh Market Foods will cover a one-time round-trip travel cost for the successful candidate to our location and back to their permanent residence at the end of the work period. This does not include the cost for a full trailer move (household goods, trailers, or large personal belongings etc).
