Position Summary
We’re looking for a meticulous and experienced Canadian Payroll Specialist to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in Canadian payroll legislation, remittances, and compliance, especially within the staffing or service-based industries. You’ll be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal and provincial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process full-cycle payroll for multiple staffing clients across Canada
- Ensure compliance with CRA regulations, provincial employment standards, and statutory deductions
- Prepare and distribute ROEs, T4s, and other payroll-related documentation
- Manage payroll funding schedules and coordinate with finance to ensure timely disbursements
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate payroll records and audit trails
- Respond to client and employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and remittances
- Collaborate with accounting and HR teams to support financial reporting and workforce management
- Assist in developing and improving payroll workflows and automation tools
- Monitor payroll costs and provide insights to optimize client profitability
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Payroll Administration, Accounting, or a related field
- PCP or CPM designation from the National Payroll Institute (formerly CPA) is strongly preferred
- 5+ years of Canadian payroll experience, ideally in a multi-client or staffing environment
- Strong understanding of federal and provincial payroll legislation
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks, ADP, Ceridian, or similar platforms)
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with invoice generation tools or SAS environments
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills to liaise with clients and internal teams
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
