Duties:
Under the guidance of our head butcher you will:
- Break down beef, pork, poultry, or other meat products into various cuts
- Prepare fresh meats for sale, adhering to food safety protocols (slice meats, serve fresh meat, weigh and wrap meats, grind meat and prepare fresh sausages, skewer meat/poultry for kabobs, make burgers, marinated meats, etc)
- Assist customers in making products selections and provide advice on cooking techniques.
- Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized working and shopping environment, ensuring meat display cases, glass, signs, coolers, counters and floors are clean and organized.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient production and the highest quality products for our customers.
Requirements:
- An interest in craft butchering as a career
- Some experience in a professional meat cutting environment is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects as needed
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Availability to work weekends
